“You’re running out of time!” – Says who?

The time to do (fill in the blank) has passed. It would be impossible for you to see your visions and dreams come into fusion. There is no clear path for you, and it is simply not in the cards God dealt to you. Have these thoughts ever plagued your mind? If so, you should know these are lies from the enemy. The enemy will have you believing you are running out of time.
With good reason, you stop and question what in the world, and how in the world, is the chapter you’re currently in right now relevant to where God is taking you. The delay frustrates you. You simply feel stuck and unseen, which is exactly why those doubts begin to creep in and you start listening to the lies.
But God says,
“I see you.”
To be frank – He sees right through you and straight into your heart. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it.
Even when you do not feel it, God has His eyes on you. He is there, working smack dab in the middle of what you consider to be a mess. You see, life is not about how you feel. Your feelings are unstable and unreliable. No matter what your current circumstance is, your source of truth should always be rooted in the Word of God and the plans He has for you. So here is a truth you can bet your life on — God makes everything beautiful in its own time.
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
The sweetest moments come to those who trust and believe God knows what He is doing and will bless you with exactly what your soul needs. It is a process called life—a life preparing you for eternity.
Growing up, I made many poor choices, which landed me pregnant at the age of 19. I made a beeline to motherhood and skipped by the years that I thought were supposed to be my “college years.” You know, dorm room nights with roommates, going out with friends, and all the other fun activities that are supposed to happen in your 20s. None of it happened for me, and for a while, I always felt that it could never happen for me.
But God said, “I see you.”I am now in my 30s and have experienced what I view as even better moments than what would have been my “college years.”
Last year, I traveled to the Netherlands for a work trip. I ended up rooming with a female colleague of mine. At first, I did not know what to expect. Since we both work remotely, this would be our first time meeting face to face. Rooming with her felt like a college-type situation. We talked, laughed, got ready for our day, etc.
The best part of it all—God gave me a Christian roommate. The sweetest Christian woman I could have ever asked to share a room with. In the morning, she would play praise and worship music as we got ready for our day. She even prayed over our adventures before we walked out of our hotel room. We were two sisters in Christ rooming together in Europe. I could not have asked for a better “dorm” experience than that.
There was a moment when we laughed about how heavy our luggage was, but we didn’t think twice—we made sure to bring our Bible so we could stay close to God and His Word. On the very first night, this angel even ironed my dress for the next day.
With an experience like that, God completely swept me off my feet. It was as if He checked off the “college dorm experience” from my heart’s list—going above and beyond anything I could have imagined or asked for.
You see, God can manipulate time and then dress up these “lost” moments with precious blessings that shower you with His love. You must trust Him on this. If something has not happened for you, you are simply not ready to experience it. Don’t get upset over this. The time will come, and it will satisfy God’s standards, which are far beyond anything you can ever dream up yourself.
What you believe to be God’s procrastination may just be God’s protection.
For example, in the Bible, there is a story about Jesus stopping a demon from revealing He was the Messiah. Why? Because there was still work to be done for Jesus. And the same is true for you—there is still work for you to do right now, as you keep moving forward, believing that God will take you where you need to be. There is a method to God’s timing. When you are in a waiting season, it usually means that there is work to do with what you have right now.
God’s perfect timing is like the lavender haze that paints the sky as the sun departs for the day. It’s a fleeting, magical time of day that can be missed if you’re not patient. You have to pause, be present, and take it in with your own eyes. Only then do you feel the wonder of what is unfolding.
And those long-awaited moments in your life are just like that sunset—divine reminders of God’s love and the beauty He creates. In the waiting, He will humble you. But you have to show up regardless. You have to be present, or you might leave some blessings on the table.
Don’t let the enemy whisper lies about how you have nothing going for you. Don’t isolate yourself from the truth: God is for you. His timing is perfect, and His plans are filled with grace and compassion for you. All He asks you to do is to keep showing up—so He can show off His glory in your life.
Philippians 1:6 says, “He who began a good work in you will finish it.” He won’t leave you where you are. He meets you where you are and then guides you to where He wants you—into His presence.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Cease from striving and let God.”The presence of God is priceless. Stay close to His presence, and everything else will bloom when it is time.
Well, looks like time is not running away from you after all. Everything you think you lost will be restored. Yes, even time.
Who said? God said.
Trust His timing.
With all my love,
